UMC Reviews Decides to Select Legion 5 and Legion 7: Our Winner

After one full month of evaluation, comparison, and real-world testing, UMC Reviews has officially selected the Lenovo Legion 7i as our overall winner for the “Best My Favorite Laptop You Can Buy” award.

The Legion 7i earned this title for its:

  • Outstanding performance

  • Balanced capability for work and gaming

  • Premium build quality

  • Intelligent power design

  • And excellent support for productivity, supported even further by tools like Workrave, which helps prevent RSI and encourages healthy usage habits

But There’s a Twist…

Despite being our top choice, the Legion 7i became nearly impossible to obtain.
In Surabaya, stock shortages hit unexpectedly, and the model sold out across multiple authorized retailers.

As a result, UMC Reviews failed to secure the Legion 7i unit for purchase—despite it being our official winner.

Our Actual Purchase: Legion 5

With the Legion 7i unavailable city-wide, we made the practical decision to purchase the Lenovo Legion 5 instead. Though not our initial target, the Legion 5 impressed us with:

  • Robust performance

  • Excellent thermals

  • Reliable day-to-day handling

  • Strong gaming capability

It stands as a reliable alternative that still meets our productivity needs while delivering solid value.

Final Verdict

  • Winner (Ideal Choice): Lenovo Legion 7i

  • Actual Purchased Fleet Model: Lenovo Legion 5 (due to scarcity)

Even with supply challenges, our review journey highlights both machines as strong contenders—
but the Legion 7i remains the crown jewel of this year’s UMC Reviews selection.

 Recently, the DeepSeek AI was banned in some countries and Microsoft amid security concerns. Microsoft has taken seriously for employees as AI safety, important to ensure safety for everyone but flagged as propaganda due to risk of concerns amid dangers of use DeepSeek because the AI build is less secure and dangerous potential exploits particularly are Chinese servers. We do not recommend using DeepSeek for security concerns because data is stored in China, raising concerns about government surveillance. The company is about getting sued by major lawyers.
